History of Quarry Days

Quarry Days is a yearly community celebration of who we are and what we represent as residents in Dell Rapids.  We come together remembering how we join together each day in work, play, education, worship, good times and bad, supporting one another through it all.  It is especially pertinent to the large quarry operations which is located on the east and southwest edges of town.  The L.G. Everist quarry industry played a major part in helping to develop this community during the 1800's.

Quarry days started in 1987 and is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce each year.  Local businesses, organizations and individuals give their time and resources to preparing each year for thousand of visitors who come to visit our great community.  Quarry days is held the last weekend in June each year.
